Our Story

Since Celebration Church’s inception in the summer of 1992, Senior Pastors, Randy and Cherie Hand have helped people discover God’s best for their life through Bible-based teaching, worship, and a warm friendly atmosphere. We are a church that loves people and are driven to help them discover a better life.

“To judge a tree’s ability to grow, thrive and endure storms and the
passing of time, simply look at its roots.  Shallow roots will
eventually lead to dry branches when the heat is on.  Twisted roots
will lead to a deformed system that will eventually choke itself out.
But roots that are strong are spread deep, diving deeper the
hotter it gets, chasing the water that gives it life.  The longer the
passing of time, the more rooted a healthy tree becomes, because it
never stops running after the source that birthed it.
The Celebration you see today is large and strong, but just like the
redwoods California is renowned for, it too started as just a small
seed.  Walking a local baseball diamond behind his apartments, Pastor
Randy Hand was in Oklahoma when the seed was given to him.  Just
finishing Bible School with a wife and three children, moving to
California had not been in his 3-5 year (or any year) plan.  But with
a submitted, obedient heart that would mark this movement through
every challenge and transition, he took up his seed, made the move
with family in tow and planted the little he had been given into
ground that many would call barren…”
